Brackla is located in the County Borough of Bridgend.
It has a population of approximately 11,000, making it larger in comparison some towns in the area.
We have five primary schools: Brackla primary, Tremains Infants & Juniors, Archdeacon John Lewis Church in Wales School & Ysgol Bro Cwm Ogwr.
We also have a new school which opened in September 2011, Archbishop McGrath Roman Catholic High School, together with excellent sports facilities which are managed by Bridgend County Borough School.
COUNCIL MEETINGS take place the third Thursday of the month, 7.00 pm, The Boardroom, Oak Tree Surgery. Members of the public and the press are welcome to attend to observe proceedings. Brackla Community Council give the public an opportunity at the beginning of the meeting to address The Chairman regarding any community issues or items on the agenda. Please let the Clerk know on arrival if you wish to address council.
We provide free dog fouling bags to Brackla residents only, to encourage responsible dog ownership and help make Brackla a clean and healthy environment for all. Please dispose in any Borough Council litter bin or if the bin is full, take it home and dispose in your black bag waste.
